Etal Basketmaking Group, thanks to the support of a grant given by The Northumberland National Park, have been able to arrange an extra weaving day in the Kirknewton Village Hall.

The event has been arranged for Saturday March 7th.
10.00am - 4.00pm.

Mr John Galloway will be leading the session, using dyed willow to make baskets, using a choice of weaves.

John will be bringing glorious dyed willow and will be teaching how to make round baskets with ready made structure so that the weaving of the sides can be started immediately, and the border put down in the session. Extras such as handles(rope, ridgid or finger-holes) are an option for the quicker workers. There will be an opportunity to make a shaped basket, or a straight cylinder, usuing a choice of weaves.

You can see and learn more about John and his work on his website.

Places are limited and will cost £10 for the day. (low cost due to a subsidy from the Northumberland National Park)
