Kirknewton past and present days. :  details

Posted by Pat Edwards

We had a fantastic evening last night previewing the three new Shadowcat Films Kirknewton Northumberland videos for the website. A particular thanks to Jim, Joyce, Louis, Colin and Chris for their presenting and interviewee skills. Thank you to everyone who came along, a very full house! Huge thanks to GIS Photographic - Photographer and Filmmaker and Horizon APas well.

Kirknewton Village Hall entertained a "full house" to see three short films made and produced by ShadowcatFilms.

Dorothy Sharpe was the Project Leader responsible for these brilliant films which illustrated life in the past and present here in beautiful Kirknewton.

Film 1. A film recording the life of Bob Fraser (shepherd, dog breeder and mentor) – a legend in his own lifetime.

Film 2. A virtual tour of the church of St Gregory the Great.

Film 3. A guided virtual tour of the West Hill Hillfort trail.

At the end, as the film titles rolled, the audience showed their appreciation with spontaneous applause.

The fantastic ariel footage was filmed by HorizonAP, and captured in wonderful detail the full scenic beauty of the wonderful landscape around Kirknewton.
The village hall again was an excellent facility, able to provide for the large turn out of people who came along. Thanks to those who provided welcome light refreshment, and drinks after the showing.

Congratulations to all involved in the making of these films, and for the opportunity of being able to enjoy them. The films are to be uploaded onto the Kirknewton website at a later date. Brilliant. Watch this space!!
